Warm spring breezes are blowing and the flowers are (almost) blooming! If you’re like us, you’ve got spring fever – big time. Want to add some freshness to your home while waiting for the daffodils and lilies of the valley? Here are some inexpensive and super easy home updates you can do today!
Towel Change Out
This is an inexpensive upgrade that you’ll touch and feel and appreciate every day. Replace your drab brown and tan towels with fluffy, soft new towels! Pick springy pastel colors like baby blue, canary yellow and lime green. Take advantage spring white sales in stores and online for the best deals. Mix and match colors for the bathroom, kitchen and laundry room and enjoy!
Mantle Redo
We don’t have to see your house to know that your fireplace is the focal point – it’s where all eyes go upon entering the room. Who says mantles are reserved for red and green holiday decorations? Freshen up your mantle for the spring season with colorful vases and brilliant flowers! Make it a family affair by having the kids each paint their own personalized vase to display (recycled bottles or cans would work).
Frame Change
Spring is a great time to give your walls a new look – and you don’t need new artwork to do it. Give your pictures a new look by replacing the mish-mash of frames you’ve collected over the years with coordinating frames that look like they belong together. If you have kids, they can get involved too by contributing their own “artwork” to the wall, like a finger-painting masterpiece.
Accessorize a Room
Do this in the room where you spend the most time – the living room, den or family room. After the fireplace, accessories are often the next place eyes go when entering a room. Make your room say “spring” by adding some new colorful pillows to the couch, and perhaps a coordinating throw blanket. They will add a cheery spring feeling to the room, and you can use them for a springtime nap!
